The first step is to download and install the StruXML Tekla Add-in. You can find it at the:
The Tekla StruXml Add-In will appear in Start menu, in StruSoft folder:
Before you run your first project, make sure you will get familiar with the:
- Introduction video - part 1 explaining how to create analytical model in Tekla.
- Introduction video - part 2 explaining how to export a Tekla analytical model to struxml.
- Introduction video - part 3 explaining how to open struxml file in FEM-Design.
- Introduction video - part 4 explaining how to update imported Tekla model in FEM-Design.
The most important information about the export from Tekla to FEM-Design:
- Supported version: Tekla 13 to Tekla 20.1.
-
The current version of the connection is manifested as a Tekla StruXML Export tool and it does not appear in the Analysis applications drop down list ( it resides in the start menu, as mentioned above).
-
The tool exports the selected analysis model (regardless of the Analysis application defined for it in the Analysis models dialog) from the currently open Tekla model with the defined profile and material mappings.
- The selected analysis model with the material
and profile mapping defined will be exported into a .struxml file, which
can be opened (or imported as update to a previous import) in FEM-Design.
